“BEE JEWISH BOOKS” JEWISH IDENTITY BUILDING BOOKS FOR FAMILIES

ABOUT US

My name is Linda Verő-Bán living in Budapest, Hungary.  As the rebbetzen of the Frankel Leo street Synagogue my work is combined by informal education and community building. I am responsible for the educational programs for young families in our commnity like Sunday school, holiday celebrations and Family Kabbalat Shabbath.

I created the Bee Jewish Books series specially for families. Today eight books are available in Hungarian, three in English and one in Russian.

These beautiful books are not only fun to read but are also intended

  • to serve educational purposes
  • strengthen Jewish identity
  • teach Jewish values, traditions and culture
  • inspire readers to ask questions about Judaism
  • promote pluralism
  • address all ages between 0 and 120!

With my books – beside teaching-, I would like to create opportunities for all members of the family — grandparents, parents, step-parents and children, Jews and non-Jews, believers and non-believers alike — to talk to each other openly and honestly about Judaism, without taboos, expectations or prescribed answers. I am honored to contribute to the strengthening of the Jewish life with my books all over the world.

The book “What Does It Mean To Be Jewish?“has been selected to be one of the best Jewish books of 2010 on The Huffington Post by Rabbi Brad Hirschfield! We are recommending our books to Jewish educational institutions as well as to Jewish -
or partly Jewish- families!
